LSU, AM, CU top Johnsons list

Denton, Texas offensive lineman Herman Johnson has been working hard this summer and now can put some of his attention on recruiting.

"I've been working hard on classes this summer," the 6-foot-8, 350-pound Johnson said. "I took a couple classes to put me in good standing as far as getting qualified to play. That has been my goal this summer."
Now with the summer session out of the way, Johnson can turn one eye to see which colleges are pursuing him the most.
"I really like LSU, Texas A&M and Colorado," he said. "I keep an eye on those three and have for quite a while. I enjoy watching them play. But, I'm not even close to choosing a school. I do like LSU quite a bit. I used to live in Louisiana."
While those three schools appear to be at the top of Johnson's list, Oklahoma has made an impression on the big offensive tackle during the spring and summer.
"I made a trip to Oklahoma's junior day earlier," he said. "They have a real good program there. They have impressed me. I enjoyed the trip up there and talked with the coaches and players when I was there. It was a real good trip."
Johnson, who earned all-district honors as a junior, has scholarship offers from LSU, Colorado and Oklahoma but is still waiting on one from Texas A&M.
"It's not a problem right now," Johnson said of no offer from the Aggies. "It's still a long time until signing day. I've gotten quite a bit of mail from them over the past few months. I'm considering them quite a bit. We'll see where it goes from here."
