LSU already on mind of 2020 Tennessee OT Jake Wray

The Latest: Class of 2020 offensive lineman Jake Wray just finished his freshman football season but he already has a list of scholarship offers that would make most seniors jealous. Schools like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and more recently joined his list, giving him some pretty impressive options early in the process. His older brother, Max, is already committed to Georgia but Jake said another SEC school has caught his eye early. That school is LSU and Rivals.com caught up with Wray to get his thoughts on the Tigers.

In His Words: “I keep in contact mostly with LSU, and Austin Thomas, he asks me to call them once a week and keep in touch. We have a great relationship. I love talking to him as a friend not only as a recruiter. We just talk about stuff that’s going on in your life and how he’s doing. It’s not only about recruiting it feels like he wants to build a real relationship with me.”

On the Tigers new offensive identity: “I know they have Myles Breenan as the quarterback and I met him and he’s a good guy. Coach Canada was a good hire. I was personally hoping that he would be the guy they hire. I’m glad they kept Coach Orgeron I like him as a coach. I think it’s a great offense I would fit in there really well.”

On his visit to LSU for the Alabama game: “Tiger Stadium is incredible. It’s crazy. You go in there and it’s not like a normal stadium. It’s got its own feeling to it. It’s indescribable.”

Rivals Reaction: LSU reached into the state of Tennessee and nabbed two five-stars in the Class of 2017 and it appears the Tigers have no plans of slowing down their efforts in the Volunteer State. Max Wray committed to Georgia very early in the process and it wouldn’t be surprising to see his brother follow a similar path. LSU is clearly the early team to beat.
