LSU adds versatile four-star playmaker Ju'Juan Johnson to 2024 class

It didn't take long for Ju'Juan Johnson to find his new home after backing off his Colorado commitment earlier this spring.

Johnson announced his pledge to home-state LSU on Monday afternoon. Brian Kelly and the Tigers hosted the four-star cornerback out of Lafayette (La.) Christian Academy for an on-campus visit, and the trip resulted in the SEC West power adding another blue chip prospect to its class.

"(LSU has) always been a dream school so them calling me, I'm always gonna pick up," Johnson previously told Rivals.com. "It's a school that I thought that I was always gonna go to, it's just been a great school so I pick up the phone for them."

RIVALS REACTS

Johnson is a huge pickup for LSU. He has proven to be a playmaker wherever he lines up on the field during three seasons of varsity starting experience. On offense, the four-star prospect is an electric weapon at quarterback, especially with his legs.

On defense, the newest LSU commit shines in the secondary. He features legitimate track speed that shows up in a big way in coverage. Johnson is a fluid athlete that makes plays on the ball in the defensive backfield. He possesses some exciting upside as he develops his game as a corner.

Rivals ranks Ju'Juan Johnson as the No. 143 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He is the No. 6 recruit in Louisiana and the No. 19 cornerback. Johnson is the 15th commitment in a LSU class that currently ranks No. 4 nationally.
