Lowery switches focus to recruiting

The season just wrapped up for 6-foot-5, 268-pound offensive tackle Chaz Lowery. The Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes prospect still holds four offers and now is starting to focus more on his recruitment.
"Things have started to pick up with East Carolina," he said. "I'm watching them more. I'm still talking to Richmond.

"I have offers from Old Dominion and Marshall too."
Is Lowery talking visits?
"I don't really have free weekends because I'm doing basketball," he said. "I do plan to go visit the four schools for officials, but I don't know when.
"I probably just want to spend more time with the team and find out more about the academics."
One other team has picked up a bit recently in Duke.
On the field, Lowery and Ocean Lakes fell to Salem a week ago in the first round of the playoffs.
"Looking back as a senior, I think we did well," he said. "I know we lost some key players and if you look at the talent we had, we came together well. There were mental lapses that could have been fixed.
"I thought I did well. Our offensive line was one of the best in the state. We gave up one sack all year and I wasn't even on the field on that play. I think I did a good job protecting. I think I definitely improved my run blocking and my explosiveness out of my stance."
