Lowery makes a decision

Offensive lineman Chaz Lowery made a decision earlier today. The 6-foot-5, 268-pounder made a decision just before he left his official visit today.
"I committed this morning to East Carolina," he said. "They were very excited. I think there was excitement on both sides. I'm glad to have the recruiting process over and glad to know where I'm going."

A few factors played into Lowery's choice for the Pirates.
"It was just a mixture of academics as well as the team and people down there," he said. "They were honest with me the entire time. They've definitely been very good the whole recruiting process and I felt comfortable.
"The coaches are also a good group of young and experienced guys. Coach McNeil preaches family and my recruiter was great the whole time."
The Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes prospect has an opportunity to see the field early in his career.
"They definitely have said if I work hard there should be an opportunity to play early," he said. "It's up to me and how hard I work."
