Marcus "Gator" Clayton says a new team has made a late push for his services as
signing day approaches.
"I've had a couple of things fall through that I thought
were going to be there, like Tennessee and North Carolina," he said, "but
Louisville has come on strong and really impressed me. I'd say they're my leader
right now.
"I've got a chance to play right away in their program.
They've lost some DBs, and think I would be a big help in their secondary. I
know they've had a good team for the last few years, and they play a pretty good
schedule."
Clayton (5-8, 180, 4.31) said he'll choose between
Louisville and Iowa, the latter of which he visited in November.
"Iowa is a good program, too, but they play in a run-first
conference," he said. "With my size and skills, I like the idea of playing the
type of teams that Louisville faces. It's a tough decision. I just need to think
about it a little more this week."
