Louisville lands Rivals250 OL Mekhi Becton on Signing Day
Looking to build on last year's success Louisville is putting together a strong recruiting class. The commitment of Rivals250 offensive lineman Mekhi Becton makes this class even stronger. The Highland Springs, Va. Star picked the Cardinals over Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Oregon.
IN HIS OWN WORDS…
"I picked Louisville because they're a program on the rise," Becton said. "They have a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback and my visit was really impactful. I loved the urban area and the Ali Center was really nice.
"I connected with Geron Christian, Toriano Roundtree, and coach Galloway," he said. "They were telling me they have a history of having players play early. I'll definitely have a chance to play early and I can get my degree in three years."
RIVALS' REACTION
Becton is a big time addition that should really help the offensive line down the road. It's pretty uncommon to see freshman offensive linemen start in their first year and Becton likely won't be different. He has a great frame and is a patient pass blocker. He also has enough flexibility and versatility to play either guard or tackle.
