Louisville lands four-star quarterback

Keaton Torre's mind was close to made up long ago and his official decision was made Thursday. The class of 2016 quarterback's verbal commitment to Louisville didn't materialize from out of the blue on Saturday afternoon. It only seemed that.
The deal had been done for longer than it initially seemed. Turns out, kids in the information age can still keep secrets.

"I committed on Thursday, but I didn't say anything until now," Torre said. "We had a big game against Westmoore on Friday, and I didn't want to put the limelight on me. I just waited to tell anyone. I just wanted to focus on my team and the game."
A junior at Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe High School, Torree shared the news with his family and at least one friend. Dahu Green, a wide receiver at Westmoore High School and a Louisville commit in the class of 2015 received news of the decision as soon as it was made. In fact, there was a bit of collusion at work.
"I told Dahu as soon as I committed on Thursday," Torre said. "He was just excited to get me down there. He's been chomping at the bit since day one. This was a relief for him and me."
In a lot of ways, he reasons behind Torre's commitment to the Cardinals read like the book on football recruiting clichés. He notes the coaches and gushes over the campus. He also touches on the program's style of play. Still, even in 2014, selling a prospect's parents is a must, and Bobby Petrino and company were able to do that in this case.
"My mom really fell in love with the campus down there," Torre said. "She loved everything about it. My parents had a big say in where I further my education, so that was important. A lot of other things came into play, too. Coach [Garrick] McGee and Coach Petrino are the best at what the do. They have proven that. I think I fit with that offense, too. "
Torre is rated as the No. 7 pro-style quarterback and the No. 112 overall prospect in the 2017 class. In two games as a junior.
