Louisville has edge for WR

Matawan (N.J.) Matawan Regional junior safety Trey Walden has started to receive interest from the Big East, ACC and Big Ten. Does the 6-foot-0, 165-pounder with 4.5-second speed have any favorites?

"I've gotten mail from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Louisville, Michigan and Boston College," he said. "I wouldn't say I have any favorites, but I do kind of like Louisville. I like that they have a good program and I've heard that their education is pretty good."
Walden is really focused on getting a good education out of wherever he goes to school.
"I'm looking to major in business management or something like that," he said. "I'm also looking for somewhere that I can be a really good athlete and compete for playing time. I want to be noticed."
Despite being recruited mostly as a safety so far, Walden wants to play wide receiver at the next level.
"I like to catch the ball and score touchdowns. That's mainly why I prefer receiver. I still do enjoy hitting people too," he said. "I feel I am really good at catching the ball and I'm pretty fast. On defense, I hit hard and make good reads. I also have a good eye for what's going on in front of me."
Currently, Walden doesn't have any camps or combines scheduled.
Last season he hauled in 11 receptions for 200 yards opposite 2006 wide receiver Jason Simmons. On defense he had 108 tackles and seven sacks.
