FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Tyler Scott’s offseason has a slightly different feel than the ones being experienced by some of his peers. He’s hoping to collect more scholarship offers, sure. That’s always a bullet point on the check list. But instead of planning visits and doing research, his days have a more academic feel.
“I’m not really thinking about visits because I’m just worried about my SATs and all that right now,” Scott said. “You know because I have interest from Stanford and Duke and all that. I have to make sure all that stuff is right.”
But while the two high-level academic institutions are certainly on his mind and dictating his actions. He refuses to come out and name the Cardinal and Blue Devils, from which he’s still awaiting official offers, as his leaders. The four-star defensive back, who currently holds eight offers, prefers are more open approach.
“I don’t have any real leaders right now," Scott said. "I’ll say everyone is even. I’ll start getting that stuff during the spring and summer.”
Then, there’s Louisville. Scott’s interest in the Cardinal is also building. So much so that he’s considering using a spring official visit, recently allowed by NCAA rule change, to tour the campus.
“They want me to take an official visit soon,” Scott said. “We’re in contact a lot. I think I might do it. I probably talk to them most right now.”
Scott attends Ft. Lauderdale’s University High School. He’s a four-star prospect and member of the 2019 Rivals100.
