The Latest: When Class of 2019 Montavious Brini committed to Temple last year, he did so thinking that he would be playing for Coach Matt Rhule and his staff. But even thought it’s been a few months since Rhule left the Owls for Baylor, Brini remains committed and said he’s working on developing relationships with the new staff. Despite his commitment, other programs haven’t stopped recruit him and Rivals.com caught up with Brini at the recent Miami stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas to talk Owls and other things.

In His Words: “I thought about de-committing when the staff left but I decided to stick with them. I’ve been talking to the new coaches and just getting to know them and building that relationship again. I need to get up there and take a visit sometime soon so I can get a look at them and get to know the new coaches.”

On schools trying to flip him: “Right now it’s Louisville. That’s an ACC school they’ve got a bunch of dogs out there. Their defense is really impressive and at the next level they see me as a linebacker. So I could see myself fitting in there. I want to get there to see campus soon.

On other potential visits: “I might go to Memphis, maybe UCF and Florida.”

Rivals Reaction: Anytime a prospect commits as early as Brini did there’s going to be plenty of ups and downs in terms of the relationship with the school. The coaching change at Temple certainly is an extra curveball so it will be interesting to see how things shake out down the road.
