Louisiana QB still waiting for chance

Lutcher, La., two-star quarterback Dustin Mitchell has all the talent in the world. With 15 total touchdowns and only five interceptions as a senior and 31 touchdowns as a junior, he’s got all the tools to be a high-level Division I quarterback. But Mitchell has yet to be able to shake the sleeper tag in the minds of some college coaches.
“It’s still really the same guys calling me,” he said. “I have an offer from Louisiana Lafayette and I am getting weekly calls also from Tulane. Florida was also calling me and told me I was on their list, but we all know what happened there.”
Mitchell is in no rush to make a decision, so there is plenty of time for teams to get involved with the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder. He’s also focused on helping his team make a run in the state playoffs. Lutcher started the season out slow, but now they’re 4-5 and already promised a spot in the big dance.
