Louisiana OL has two offers

West Monroe (La.) offensive lineman Larry Shappley is one of the top lineman in the Pelican State this year. He has already picked up a couple of offers and is getting attention from several other big time schools.
“I have offers from Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette right now,” Shappley said. “I’m also hearing a lot from Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU. They have all basically told me that they want to see more of me and will be keeping an eye on me during my senior year.”

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Shappley runs the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds, has a 330-pound bench press, 330-pound power clean and 455-pound squat.
“Right now I would say that my favorites are LSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas,” Shappley said. “LSU would have to be my No. 1 school right now. I am trying to keep everything pretty open though. I grew up a big LSU fan, if they offered I would probably commit.”
Shappley has attended camp at LSU and Ole Miss this summer and stated that he is through camping for the summer and is focusing on his senior season.
“I’m looking for a school that can offer early playing time,” Shappley said. “I want to make sure that I will enjoy my four or five years of school there so I want to make sure that I’m comfortable. Distance is not a big factor to me as long as I feel comfortable with the school.”
Shappley, who has a 26-inch vertical jump is an excellent academic student who holds a 3.7 GPA and has already scored a 27 on the ACT.
“I would like to take all of my visits before I decide,” Shappley said. “I would probably hold off on making a decision until my senior season is over so that I can stay focused on my season. Then again if LSU offered I might would go ahead and commit.”
