Top 30 team and one of the top defensive tackles in the
South, Watson (6-4, 283, 4.7) will visit the Hurricanes on Jan. 24. He had
previously scheduled visits at Colorado (12/20) and USC (1/10).
"Those are my top three right now, but I don't have
a favorite," he said.
The last two visits will likely boil down to LSU,
Florida, Oklahoma or West Virginia, Watson said.
"I haven't had any in-home visits yet," he said.
"Our coach is wanting us completely focused on the playoffs, and we've made
it to the state championship game. He said once we're finished with that, he
can help us with recruiting and setting that stuff up."
He noted that Miami, LSU, USC and Colorado had all
called this weekend to request days for in-home visits.
Watson has helped lead John Curtis Christian to a
13-1 record and a rematch with New Orleans' O.P. Walker next Saturday in the
state championship game. He's recorded 88 tackles, 17 sacks and two forced
fumbles this season.
