Louisiana DT claims offers

Houma (La.) Vandebilt Catholic defensive tackle Joel Ross currently claims four BCS Conference scholarship offers. The 6-foot-1, 312-pounder talked about the schools that are recruiting him and his plans for the remainder of the summer in this interview with Rivals.com.
"I have offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Arkansas and (Division I-AA) Grambling. LSU is showing interest, but they haven't offered me yet. I don't think I have any favorites, not yet."

Ross recently attended prospect camp at Ole Miss. Frank Wilson is recruiting him for the Rebels.
"I was at the camp," he said. "I thought it was pretty good. It was really intense and the people there are very intense. They told me what they could do with me. Told me they could make me into a Freshman All-American."
Ross also has been to LSU on an unofficial visit for a game.
"It was tight," he said. "You know, it was like one of those things where I didn't even think about it at all till I got there, when I went to the game I was like – this is it man."
Ross added that he plans to take an official visit to Oklahoma and may also visit Oklahoma State and Arkansas. He hopes to attend prospect camp at LSU later this month.
Early playing time is important to Ross.
"How I fit in to their system is important to me and if I can play in the first year," he said. "Redshirting is not what I want to do, playing in my first year is important to me."
He's also not in any hurry to make a decision.
"I will probably wait until signing day," he said.
Ross is the nation's No. 56 defensive tackle prospect and the No. 24 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana according to Rivals.com.
