Louisiana DL likes two in SEC

A new off-season strength program may be pushing one of Louisiana's top
prospects to new levels of performance.

Jonathan Landor, a 6-foot-4, 256-pound defensive tackle from
Fontainebleau High School, says he's eager to show what he can do on the summer
camp scene after engaging in serious workouts for the first time in his career.
"I've been working out in (former LSU strength coach) Kurt Hester's program,"
Landor said. "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me as a football
player. I'm pushing myself like never before, and it's paying off. They've got
several former college and pro players, including Orlando Thomas from the
Vikings, in there, and those guys have shown me what it takes to be on the top
level."
Landor cited jumps in his bench press (300 to 350) and squat (400 to 460) in
the last year and a 40 time "around 4.8 or 4.9." He hopes that translates into
better production on the field, where he was already one of the state's best. He
recorded 65 tackles, 10 quarterback hurries and five sacks as a junior.
He'll be camping at LSU in July and hopes to attend a camp at Auburn as well.
"Those are my favorite schools," Landor said. "I grew up a big LSU fan. If I
got an offer, I'd probably jump on it, but Auburn is my favorite right now
because they've shown me the most interest. They're the only ones who have been
sending me a lot of personal, hand-written stuff. I'm hoping they'll offer.
Landor's list also includes Memphis and Louisiana Tech.
