Nick Frank recently gave his verbal commitment to Stanford,
picking the Cardinal over hometown Tulane, Northwestern, Louisiana Tech and
a handful of other schools.
"I just couldn't pass up the opportunity that
Stanford was providing," he said. "Educationally, it's as good as it gets. (Frank has a 4.45 weighted GPA and a 28 ACT)
And the football program is usually strong in the Pac-10. That's a good
combination. I'm real happy with the offer and my decision.
"Coach (David) Kelly made me feel real comfortable.
I got a good vibe from all their coaches and the players. It made the
process real easy."
Stanford could be getting a diamond in the rough. As
a senior, Frank (6-2, 245, 4.7) recorded 105 tackles, 20 sacks, 10 forced
fumbles and 10 pass break-ups in earning All-Metro Defensive MVP honors as
chosen by the New Orleans media.
Frank said he'll likely make an official visit to
Stanford on Jan. 17, but doesn't plan on making any other trips.
"No, I'm real satisfied with them," he said.
