Louisiana DE high on Tide

Shreveport (La.) Evangel produces some of the top high school teams in the country annually and guys like defensive end Zach Schreiber are the reason why. Schreiber does not have huge size for a defensive end, but he does boast a huge new offer.
“My newest offer is from Alabama, which is the biggest one I have,” Schreiber said. “I also have offers from Texas Tech, Tulsa, Louisiana-Monroe, Tulane and Memphis. I am getting a lot of interest from LSU, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State as well, but they have not offered yet.”

At only 6-foot-2, 220 pounds Schreiber’s specialty is pass rushing with this 4.6 second 40-yard dash time.
“I would say that my top two schools right now are Texas Tech and Alabama,” Schreiber said. “Those are my two biggest offers that I like the most and I really like those schools a lot as well anyway. I’m also looking at LSU, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State”
As a junior Schreiber earned all-district, all-city and all-state honors in one of the toughest regions in the state.
“The most important factor in my decision will be playing time,” Schreiber said. “I don’t want to go and ride the pine for four years. Staying close to home is not a bi deal to me, I will go wherever. It’s always nice to be close to home or go somewhere that you know people, but it’s not something that will affect my decision a whole lot.”
As a junior he racked up 75 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, one interception and five recovered fumbles.
“I don’t plan on camping anywhere this summer,” Schreiber said. “I am going to Las Vega for three weeks with my dad and I just want to work out hard. Some schools want me to come to their camp, but I am happy with where I am at right now from a recruiting standpoint.”
