Louisiana back leaning toward WVU

Three-star Lafayette (La.) Comeaux all-purpose back Tyler Benoit could be getting close to pulling the trigger on his college decision.
“Right now, I’m really liking West Virginia,” he said. “They’re the school that seems to want me most, and they’ve made me feel important to them. They had a coach come by the school and talk to me before Christmas. He said they’d be getting back in touch with me to set up my official visit sometime this week, so I’m waiting to hear back from them. I’ll definitely be going there for a visit.”

Benoit (6-1, 194, 4.4) rushed for more than 900 yards and 12 touchdowns in seven games as a senior, but he has excellent hands and receiving skills. He could play either running back or receiver at the next level.
“West Virginia has a real good offense for a guy like me,” he said. “That’s another thing that I like about them. Plus, they play in a good conference and get a lot of exposure.”
LSU and Florida State had been recruiting Benoit, but he said their interest level has dropped off in recent weeks.
“I guess they’re looking at different people now,” he said. “I don’t know where I stand with them.”
Michigan State and Oklahoma State are two other possibilities for official visits, but Benoit has yet to set those dates.
