Lafayette (La.) Carencro athlete Lucas Taylor is a lean athlete, who has earned a nice list of scholarship offers and now has another SEC offer to add to his list.
“Mississippi State offered me the other day,” Taylor said. “I have gotten calls from a bunch of schools over the past couple of weeks. I think I have somewhere around like eight offers now or something like that.”
Taylor measured 5-foot-10 ½ and 173 pounds at the Baton Rouge Nike combine in May. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds and ran the shuttle in an amazing four seconds flat.
“I have not been to any games so far this year,” Taylor said. “This weekend I am planning on going to the Oklahoma State game. I want to take all of my visits and see all of my top schools before I make any kind of decision.”
He finished his junior season with 1624 yards rushing on 176 attempts with 13 touchdowns. He also passed for another 1521 yards and 16 touchdowns.
“My favorites right now are Oklahoma State, Florida, South Carolina, LSU and Tennessee,” Taylor said. “Out of those Oklahoma State and South Carolina have offered and I think those two would probably be my top two right now.”
In his first game of the season he collected 115 punt and kick return yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 89 yards and had 78 yards passing.
