Lott talks Minnesota offer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore cornerback Kamren Lott from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast found out this past week that he had received his first offer.
"It was a great feeling to get that Minnesota offer," Lott said. "It was my first offer. I am getting other schools to look at me but for them to step up with an offer was just a great feeling."

Lott knows a little bit about the Golden Gophers due to former First Coast and Minnesota linebacker Gary Tinsley. Tinsley, who recently passed away, had returned to his old high school in recent years and spoken about his experience at the Big Ten school.
"I believe it was last year that he was back here and talked to us about the school," Lott said. "He just told us to stay focused. He said it is different up there, but he liked it. He never said nothing bad about Minnesota."
Lott says that regardless of who else comes along in his recruitment, Minnesota will always be a factor.
"I will always think about them," Lott said. "They were my first offer and Gary went there, he always talked good about them."
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback is also hearing from some other schools as the spring progresses.
"I am also hearing from FAU and FIU, as well as some other schools," Lott said. "Most just tell me they are evaluating me and that they will be looking at me during the spring."
Lott said he is likely to take some summer visits, but doesn't know a specific schedule at this time.
