Lots of offers coming in for Huguenots Jenkins

Richmond (Va.) Huguenot is home to one of the best players in the Commonwealth in 2008 in wide receiver Rotell Jenkins. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder has numerous offers and plenty more coming in the near future.
"Right now I know we have verbals from Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State and Virginia," Huguenot head coach Richard McFee said. "Virginia Tech Florida State and others are planning to offer pretty soon."

With so many colleges showing interest, does Jenkins have a leader?
"Right now he's wide open," he said. "I know he's listening to everybody. We do have guys at Ohio State and Miami, but we'll see. Usually I like my kids to commit in between their junior and senior year so they can relax. We'll see if Rotell will do that."
Jenkins is getting looks at both wide receivers and safety at the next level. Last season he hauled in four interceptions while catching 36 receptions for 642 yards and eight touchdowns.
"As a safety, he has a knack for the ball and knows where it'll be thrown. Out in coverage he'll pick the ball off, but he also has the ability to play cornerback too," he said. "On offense, he'll go up between two people and pull the ball down. I've coached some great ones including Bryan Still and David Terrell. He's right up there with them and has great hands. He understands how to read the secondary and run good routes. He's got the same attributes those players had."
McFee spoke highly of his star athlete off the field too.
"He lives with his grandmother and that has made him very well mannered," he said. "He's a good student with a 2.5 GPA and understands what needs to be done."
