Lots of interest for 2017 ATH Johnson

Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High has a ton of talent in the 2016 class but 2017 prospect Tyree Johnson should not be overlooked. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end/outside linebacker already has an offer from Rutgers but many more are on the way. Schools like North Carolina, East Carolina, Ohio State, Iowa and Pittsburgh have expressed interest.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Last season Johnson was stuck behind talented upperclassmen but this year he is starting and will be trying to make a name for himself. His next offers will largely be determined by his play in the early part of this season.
IN HIS WORDS: "I need to take a visit up to Rutgers and see what they're all about before I really judge them. I talked to coach Marcus Berry and coach Flood. (Coach Flood) is a pretty nice guy and is straightforward," Johnson told Rivals.com.
RIVALS' REACTION: Johnson is extremely athletic for his size and his position at the next level will be determined by how much bigger he gets. Right now he looks like a linebacker but is playing defensive end out of necessity. Look for Johnson to use his quickness to his advantage and make a lot of plays in the backfield.
