Los Al has another super DB

Junior to Watch: Antoine Cason
School: Los Alamitos, Calif.

Position: Cornerback.
Size and Speed: Cason stands 6-foot-1 weighs in at 180 pounds and runs the forty in 4.5.
Honors: While playing in the shadow of all-everything defensive back Randy Estes, Cason was selected first-team all-league.
Statistics: Cason logged 45 tackles and six picks as a junior for one of the area’s best defenses.
Favorite Colleges: “Antoine is going to be a major Pac10 recruit,” Los Al defensive coordinator Barry Sherr said. Cason is hearing from just about everyone in the Pac10 and more certain to be on the way.
Skinny: Cason has outstanding bloodlines, his father Wendell Cason played seven years in the NFL as a cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons and played his college ball at Oregon. Like father, like son. The younger Cason also plays corner.
As a matter of fact, Cason is in every sense of the phrase a lock down cover corner. He held UCLA bound wide receiver Joe Cowan to one catch while he picked off the two picks during the contest.
“Antoine is growing like a weed,” Sherr said. “He has grown five inches in the last year.”
When you play in the same defensive backfield with Randy Estes you do not get the ink that you deserve. Cason has tremendous upsides that has been going through a tremendous growing spurt and has the speed to match.
Though Cason may be considered a sleeper he will end up as one of the top defensive back prospects in Southern California.
