Los Al Behemoth Receives Offers

Los Alamitos, Calif., is the current standing Southern Section CIF Division I champs. If your from southern California you know how tough that Division is. The scary thing for other CIF Division foes is most of Los Al’s team returns for an encore. This team is led by all-everything Randy Estes, but he is not the whole team. Far from it, one player to watch from Los Al in 2003 is a very talented offensive lineman.
Rivals was out at Los Al’s practice yesterday and one player who really stood out was Griffin offensive tackle Daniel Rowlands (photo) (6-5, 275, 5.1). Rowlands was selected all-league and won his team’s offensive lineman of the year.

Rowlands has official offers from Oregon State and Fresno State. He has verbal offers from Washington State and Northwestern. Every school in the Pac10 is showing interest in Rowlands.
Rowlands bench is 285, clean 265, squat 415 and he has recorded a 24-inch vertical jump.
“Daniel is a very aggressive football player,” Los Al head coach John Barnes said. “He is an excellent pass blocker.”
Rowlands is also an outstanding drive blocker. He’s a very intense football player who is very coachable and smart. Rowlands has outstanding leadership skills and is an extremely hard worker.
Already Rowlands has attended both Nike Camps held at USC and attended Pete Carroll’s football camp.
What is Rowlands looking for in a school?
“The most important thing is academics,” Rowland said. “Then it is the coaching staff and good facilities.”
“I will also look into the depth chart,” Rowlands said. “I also want to play for a team with a good tradition.”
