Lopez excited to see schools

John Lopez has been patiently going through the recruiting process and the four-star lineman from Orange (Calif.) Lutheran figures it's about time to start taking some visits away from home.
Last weekend, the 6-foot-5, 328-pound prospect who shined at the recent Asante Trenchmen Academy near Los Angeles took unofficial trips to Arizona State and Utah. Others are coming up and Lopez said he's looking forward to it.

"My parents and I have been trying to get out to all the schools that have offered me to see what they're about," Lopez said. "We want to make an informed decision getting to know the schools better.
"ASU was definitely impressive. They have great academic support and the community there is awesome. I saw all the facilities and everything is really nice up there.
"At Utah, it was a real football community. Everybody was wearing Utah stuff and I really liked that."
This weekend the Orange Lutheran standout is headed to Washington for its spring game and junior day. He could visit Washington State - his newest offer - but might not have the time. He's definitely excited about the Washington trip because he's only heard good things about the Huskies.
"Everybody has been saying good stuff about that place so that should be a really good trip," Lopez said.
Trips to Washington State and Colorado are being strongly considered and Lopez said sometime this summer he wants to see Florida State.
In total, Lopez lists offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Florida State, San Diego State, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
Rivals.com rates him as the No. 15 offensive tackle and No. 126 overall in the 2013 class.
