Look out when Watkins pulls

When you are 6-foot-9 and 300 pounds, people are already going to get out of your way on the football field because of your size. But if you’re like Lake Gibson, Fla., offensive tackle Jason Watkins, and you’re 6-9 and 300 pounds and come pulling around the end with a full head of steam the people usually tuck tail and head the other direction.
“That’s what’s the most fun about blocking,” Watkins, a three-star offensive tackle that is ranked as the nation’s No. 25 player at his position by Rivals.com, said. “I love to zone block and pull on running plays. Most of the guys usually just run away from me and take themselves out of the play. I just keep going up field and find somebody else to block.”

And when he engages, it’s usually over.
So that’s why teams like Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Michigan State and UCF have offered scholarships.
“I have decided on my top seven,” Watkins said. “LSU, Florida, Auburn, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Georgia are my top seven. As far as my visits, I have decided on three of them.”
Those three are Florida, LSU and Georgia. He said he’s got visit dates with those schools, but has that information with his coach at school.
“The schools that stick out the most are LSU and Florida,” Watkins said. “I haven’t made my mind up on what school I want to go to, but LSU and Florida have made the most impact.”
