Lonie set for another Big Ten official visit

"I've had an official visit to Michigan," kicker/punter David Lonie said on Thursday night. "I'm flying out tomorrow for an official visit to Illinois."
"I'm trying to figure out who my other visits will be. Ohio State, Miami, Georgia, and Cal are possibilities. I want to visit Ohio State."

"Michigan, Ohio State, and Illinois offered me a scholarship."
"Michigan's my only official visit so far. I loved what I saw. So I'd say the lead the way since it's my only official visit."
The 6-foot-6 and 215 pound Lonie is in his second season at Iowa Falls (Iowa) Ellsworth Community College. In his first year he made eight of 11 field goals with his longest from 48 yards. Lonie also punted 65 times averaging 40.1 per boot, and handled his team's kickoff duties. A number of his kickoffs went through the uprights.
This season he is averaging 44.8 yards per punt with a long of 69. Lonie has made seven of 12 field goals with his long coming from 43 yards out.
Lonie's journey to the state of Iowa was a long one. He is originally from Australia where he went to Palm Beach Currumbin High School.
