Lonie leaves for final visit

"I've been to Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, and Louisville," punter/kicker David Lonie said. "And I took an unofficial visit to Kentucky."
"I just got done meeting with Texas A&M. They tried to get me to cancel my visit to Cal this weekend. But I'm going to stay with it. I want to see what Cal's about."

"It's going to come down to what's best for me. What I'm comfortable with."
"Michigan and Ohio State are still up there. It will be a tough decision."
"Lloyd Carr's been calling. And (Ohio State assistant) coach (Bill) Conley calls. Both of them said they were going to visit next week. Coach (Jim) Tressel might even come in next week."
The 6-foot-6 and 215 pound Lonie, from Iowa Falls (Iowa) Ellsworth Junior College, averaged close to 45 yards per punt this season. He also made seven of 12 field goals. Lonie is one of the country's top punter/kickers.
