Longview DT wants to stay in state

Longview (Texas) Spring Hill has become a regular stop for recruiters in East Texas and it looks like it will be again this recruiting season thanks for defensive tackle Brandon Carter.
The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Carter is one of many defensive tackle recruits in the state of Texas for the Class of 2005 and his coach Steve Gaddis thinks he has a shot at being one of the best of the best.

Carter agrees.
“I’m very aggressive,” he said. “But I’m also under control and use a lot of different techniques.”
Carter earned defensive most valuable player honors in his district as a junior, along with being named as an honorable mention all-state selection. He racked up 18 solo tackles, 45 assists, 13 tackles for a loss, three sacks and two fumble recoveries. He did all this, despite constant double-teams.
Carter is already getting mail form Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas. He wants to camp this summer at Texas Tech.
“I would prefer to stay in state,” Carter said. “Unless I find that there is another offer that’s better, but I know that there are some really good in-state schools out there. I’m going to be looking at the school’s academics and athletics when it comes time to make a decision.”
