Longo long on talent

Bellbrook, Ohio, offensive tackle Sam Longo hasn't been talked about much when people discuss the top players in Ohio. But maybe they should.
After a strong spring that's seen his offer list increase to 20 teams, Longo, who is 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, sits in a position that few players get an opportunity to have. Longo now gets to pick and choose the school he wants.

"I am up to 20 offers now after Maryland and Kent State offered me," Long said. "They both visited the school last week and sent me official offers."
Longo said he hears from a consistent group of schools from his offer list – that includes schools like Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Nebraska, N.C. State, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, Wake Forest and others – and he's even starting to sort out a top five list.
"Purdue, Cincinnati or Boston College are the schools I hear the most from," he said. "Cincinnati called me the first day they could. Boston College stopped by the school recently, and then and some of the Purdue coaches stopped by, too."
"I really couldn't tell you if I have a school or coach that I'm closest with. My top five would probably be Boston College Purdue, Florida State, Stanford and Cincinnati."
Long said he's not totally eliminated anybody quite yet, but he said with some of the upper level BCS offers a few of the MAC schools would probably "drop out."
"I am just open to everybody still, though," he said. "I am going to take some trips this summer. We have a trip set for June to go out to California to see Stanford and UCLA. We will probably visit Nebraska, and Florida State sometime this summer, too."
Long said he still has some personal goals he wants to get improved on before the season starts.
"After last season I was working on my weight," he said. "I broke my wrist the first game of last season so I knew my weight was important. I am up to 275, so I am good on that/ I need to work on my feet speed and blocking."
