Klein (Texas) Forest defensive end McCollins Umeh likes the opportunity Texas presents for him.

"Texas needs defensive ends," the 6-foot-3, 235 pound Umeh said. "They've been recruiting me hard as long as they could. I'm well aware of their current situation at end, and what that would mean for me in the future."
Umeh continues to wait for the scholarship offer from his leader though.
"The only problem so far is they haven't offered. Colorado and Oklahoma State have offered here in the last two weeks. Those are the newest ones. Iowa State, Kansas, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Michigan State have offered me too. But I still like Texas quite a bit. They've told me they will come through with an offer before long."
After Texas, Umeh lists several other schools in the running for his talents.
"Texas is up there at the top. But, all of the schools that have offered me are in my thoughts too. It's a long way until signing day and a lot of things could still happen. I'll just continue to work hard and give all I've got."
Umeh's latest offers came after his showing at the Nike camp in College Station, Texas.
"I feel the performance I had there really opened some schools' eyes. Colorado told me that was where they saw me and decided to offer. I worked hard to show what I have at the drills there. I think I showed people what I can do when I line up in a game."
