Long planning some visits

David Long said he remains happily committed to Stanford but the four-star cornerback is planning a round of official visits in the coming months.
The Los Angeles Loyola standout picked the Cardinal in early August but Long said he wants to have all bases covered just in case something unforeseen happens later on.

"It's still very strong," Long said of his Stanford pledge. "I'm just trying to see some schools and get a backup plan if things don't work out. I haven't been accepted yet. That's where I am at right now."
Two visits are scheduled for sure.
Long, rated as the No. 11 cornerback in the 2016 class, will visit Notre Dame in October when the Irish host Navy. The following weekend he will be at Michigan for its in-state rivalry against Michigan State.
Three other destinations are being considered as well.
Long is looking to book a trip to Nebraska, he has been talking a lot more with Ohio State and Washington - considered a frontrunner at one point in his recruitment - is also in the running for a visit.
None of those have been worked out yet but Long wants to hit the road this fall to check out some other options while maintaining his firm pledge to Stanford.
"I'm still working on Nebraska," Long said. "I'm not sure that's going to work. The ones that are still out there that I haven't confirmed yet are Nebraska, Ohio State and Washington.
"I've been talking to (Ohio State) every week. They're saying they need corners and they've asked if I'm willing to come on an official visit. I'm just trying to figure out dates. That is a school I'd be interested in."
