Long lands two major offers

David Long was not expecting any new offers but two major ones came in this week which could change the scope of his recruitment.
The 2016 athlete from Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola landed Michigan and Oregon in recent days and he's definitely excited about both offers. It could propel his recruitment even more as other schools could take notice and offer soon.

"Michigan was by the school (Monday)," Long said. "We didn't have school throughout the week so I wasn't able to be there. (Jim) Harbaugh and coach (Greg) Jackson were there.
"They came and the defensive backs coach offered (Monday). We had an optional lift and after that (Tuesday) I called my coach and I came over and talked to them briefly and they said they like my film and that the offer is on the table."
Oregon coach Mark Helfrich was by Los Angeles Loyola a few weeks ago and couldn't talk much to Long but there was immediate interest. The Ducks got more involved Tuesday with Long's newest offer after the staff saw him work out.
"Oregon's head coach came down about two or three weeks after the season and sized me up," Long said. "He couldn't really talk to me and then the defensive backs coach came (Tuesday) and just watched me work out, I ran a few routes and they offered me.
"They're definitely two big offers for me. I was talking to Oregon little by little and they were actually recruiting me as a receiver. It was a big surprise for them to offer me as a cornerback. Michigan is an up-and-coming program and that was a really big offer for me."
Both programs are recruiting Long to play cornerback. Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Miami, Nebraska, New Mexico, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State have also offered.
The 2016 prospect is expected to attend the USC junior day this weekend.
