Long excited about new offer

David Long received his latest offer from Stanford on Monday and the four-star cornerback could not hold back his excitement.
"Biggest one yet," Long said in a text message. "Words can't explain."

Stanford has clearly emerged as a serious contender for the Los Angeles Loyola standout who also talked about the Cardinal at the Tom Lemming photo shoot on Sunday even before he had the offer.
Long plans to return for summer camp and Stanford has moved to a prime spot in his recruitment.
"That was one of the schools I originally liked coming in to high school," Long said. "Just to get recruited by them is a big thing for me. Just the things that get opened up even outside of football, not to mention the big-time football they play week in and week out."
UCLA, Oregon, Michigan, Washington and Duke are some other standouts for Long, who said he wants to pick up the pace of his recruitment and start to focus on some frontrunners.
"I haven't really started to make anything yet but I have been thinking about pushing things a little quicker and trying to figure things out," Long said.
"I'm definitely going to wait until after the evaluation period. I'm not sure if it's going to be before or after the season but I'm waiting to see how things go during this evaluation period."
Stanford, which is reportedly recruiting Long as a wide receiver, is the latest offer for the four-star standout and two SEC powerhouses have gotten involved as well.
Alabama is showing serious interest and LSU has reached out. Long said the Crimson Tide seem closer to an offer at this point but he isn't sure about either program offering soon.
