“We thought that the Washington State defensive scheme compliments Marcus’ talents,” Burton’s father Eric Peterson said. “Also the coaches, the school and the family atmosphere really impressed my wife and I.”
Burton racked up 130 tackles in 10 games as a junior and is doing more of the same as a senior.
Burton chose the Cougars over other offers from Oklahoma State, Missouri, SMU, TCU, and Houston.
There were plenty of other schools that were on verge of offering the playmaking Burton.
One of the things that has made the Cougars so successful over the past 10 years has been their ability to evaluate talent that thrives in their system.
Burton is another one who should do great in a Cougar uniform.
