Lon Morris College seems to always have talent. We had a chance to catch up with asst coach Rick Dotson and find out what's going on with the rest of the Sophomores.
Troy Mathis signed early with New Orleans
James Legan (SO) 6 foot 2 (205) from Houston,TX . Legan is averaging 13.9 ppg this season.
"James is extremely good off the bounce with good range," Dotson said. "He has improved his handles and he's a strong body kid."
Illinois State,North Texas,Stephen F Austin and Illinois-Chicago have all shown interest.
Mike Hall (SO) 6 foot 0 (175) from Troy,OH is a combo guard. Hall is a transfer from Cincinnati State CC.
"Mike really knows how to score. He has increased his strength since he has arrived,"
said Coach Dotson .
Hall is shooting 45% from three-point range this season (35-78). Hall for the season is
averaging 14.1 points. Mike is receiving interest from UC-Santa Barbara, Kansas State and Cincinnati.
Jerel Hastings (SO) 6 foot 5 from Dallas, TX. Hastings is a transfer from Stephen F. Austin. This wing player does a little bit of everything. Hastings is at 11 points and 8 rebounds for the young season.
"I would consider him our best defensive player. He can guard four positions and has done so for us this season already," Dotson said. "Jerel is most effective while attacking the basket. He plays extremely hard."
Southern Utah, UT-Pan American and North Texas are calling on Hastings.
Adinson Mosquera (SO) 6 foot 9 (235) from Columbia Mosquera is a long and athletic 4/5 man. Mosquera is very effective on the defensive end blocking shots.
"He needs to be more consistent offensively. Adinson is probably better facing up than with his back to the basket," Dotson said.
Mosquera is averaging nine points and 7.6 rebounds on the season. Illinois State, New Orleans, North Texas and Nebraska have shown interest.
