Lomax commits on in-home visit

Lovejoy (Ga.) defensive end Jeremy Lomax is now committed to the University of Georgia. Lomax made the decision tonight while Georgia head coach Mark Richt and recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner made and in home visit.
“I am now officially committed to Georgia and it feels great,” said Lomax.

“I told them while they were here and they said they were relieved and that I made the right decision.”
Lomax says there is no way he will back out of his commitment with the Dawgs and says that he’ll even do a little recruiting for the guys in red and black.
“I’ve been knowing it was Georgia for a while now. I’ve been talking to Chris Scott (super junior offensive lineman) about possibly coming to Georgia. He’s already getting recruited by pretty much everybody. I am supposed to play on the team with Demiko Goodman at the all-star game and you better believe I’m going to be talking to him about Georgia.”
Lomax’s commitment does not come as a surprise as he has the Dawgs in the lead for quite sometime. Despite being offered the ability to play as a true freshman elsewhere he will likely be redshirted at Georgia.
“They told me that I may redshirt, which is cool. They said that I need to put on a little weight and get up to 240 or 250. I know there are some places where I could play as a true freshman, but either way all you get is four years on the field. If waiting a year will make me better then that is what I’ll do. Getting to play for Georgia is worth it to me.”
Lomax is fully qualified and wants to major in political science.
