Locals after big WR

Wide receiver Jamal Johnson out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside posted an impressive junior year in which he hauled in 41 receptions for 417 yards and six touchdowns. The solid year has resulted in a few schools beginning to show interest in the 6-foot-3, 184-pounder.
"He has been getting letters from a few schools like West Virginia, Virginia and Virginia Tech," Bayside head coach Darnell Moore said. "He doesn't have any favorites from what I can tell and hasn't gotten a lot of looks yet, but he'll pop out at combines and really be a player to watch this spring and summer."

Obviously his size is impressive, but what else makes Johnson such an intriguing prospect?
"First off he is a legitimate 6-foot-3 with long arms and he is still growing," he said. "I expect him to be about 6-foot-4 by the time he finishes growing and he jumps really well. He goes after the ball in mid-air, has good speed and is a confident young man that does whatever you ask of him.
"He is also a real tough kid that has his best days ahead of him. Last season was his first year starting on our team, so it's very impressive what he's done already."
The wide receiver prospect is also a track star that helped his 4x2 team finish third in the state.
Last season Johnson added six sacks on defense as he was named honorable mention all-district.
