Local RB visits FSU

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby running back Tim Longmire was one of a number of local prospects to attend Florida State's junior day on Saturday. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back talked about his experience at the hometown school.
"It went real well," Longmire said. "I am glad that that I got to come out to get escorted around to learn a little bit more about their program. I got to meet a lot of the coaches. I talked to the running backs coach for a little bit. It went real well."

Longmire claims offers from Kentucky, South Carolina, and South Florida, but is still waiting on the Seminoles - his childhood favorite. He spoke with running backs coach Eddie Gran during his visit on Saturday.
"They like my size and my athleticism," Longmire said of Florida State. "So I think I stand pretty well."
As for possibly earning an offer, Longmire has a chance to camp at the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp this summer and try to impress enough to claim a spot.
"We just talked about coming to some camps," Longmire said. "Coming out and learning a little more about their program. I look forward to doing that."
Longmire has previously attended junior day events at Florida and South Florida. He compared Saturday's event to those two previous stops.
"It was a little different," Longmire said. "I got to walk around like I said. I got to get a little bit more feel for everything. It was just different in comparison and stood out a little bit more.
"Just being escorted and how I was handled," Longmire added. "Little bit more about their program, technology-wise and everything."
Longmire talked about his previous visit to the University of Florida for a junior day.
"They were really organized and I got to learn a little bit more about them," Longmire said. "Because myself, I am a 'Noles fan, so I got to go to Gainesville and learn a little bit more about them. I like that."
He also talked about his visit to South Florida earlier this year.
"First time really going to Tampa so nice to see the view of the school and everything," Longmire said.
As a junior, Longmire played at Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon. He battled an injury throughout the season that limited his production.
