Local OL enjoys UAB

Hoover (Ala.) offensive lineman Bryan Morgan is back from his first official visit, to nearby UAB, and has another visit on the schedule.
Morgan (6 feet 2, 245 pounds) did not give the Blazers a verbal commitment, but enjoyed his visit.

"This puts UAB up there, near the top," he said.
He and his parents enjoyed their meeting with Blazers head coach Watson Brown.
"He said wanted me to be a Blazer," Morgan said. "He said I needed to make whatever decision is best for me, but that he wants me bad at UAB."
Morgan also said he has set up his second official visit, to Duke, for the weekend of Jan. 13. He also plans to visit Navy and possibly Vanderbilt, along with either Louisville or North Carolina.
Morgan's UAB recruiter of record is offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Pat Sullivan. The former TCU head coach was a finalist for the Middle Tennessee State job, but that went to South Carolina recruiting coordinator Rick Stockstill on Sunday. Sullivan staying in Birmingham helps the Blazers' chances with Morgan.
"I would say it would just because I know him and it would be cool to play for someone I know," Morgan said.
Morgan went on a tour of the campus, hung out with several UAB players and took in the Blazer men's basketball team's 81-59 victory against Alcorn State.
"That went pretty good," he said. "They have a good team."
