Lobos land Vegas quarterback

The New Mexico Lobos picked up a quarterback that Rivals.com has seen up close at over the last two years. The quarterback in question is Steve Harris (6-3, 195, 4.6) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman.
Harris entered into the season as a sleeper because he was first-year starter. Rivals.com saw him the last two seasons at the UCLA Bruin summer football camp.

Harris showed himself as an excellent leader and solid decision maker.
If it wasn’t tough enough to be one-year starter, Harris was playing for a new coach and learning a new system.
Harris threw for over 1,200 yards and had ten touchdown passes during his senior season.
Harris also took visits to Boise State and Wyoming. He a visit scheduled to Montana this weekend before he decided to cast his lot with the Lobos.
“Steve went on a trip to New Mexico with his teammate tight end Chris Marks,” Bishop Gorman head coach Dave White said. “They both enjoyed it but Steve left without an offer.”
“New Mexico head coach Rocky Long watched more tape on Steve Sunday evening,” White said. “He must have liked what he saw because he offered Steve a scholarship.”
“Steve thought about it and accepted New Mexico’s offer,” White said. “Steve will fit in good there. Rocky Long is a good guy and he has a great staff.”
