Lobos going for a championship

Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice will be playing for the Los Angeles City Section Championship this coming weekend on December 12th against Carson, Calif., a team that Venice beat earlier in the season. Three-star offensive linemen/defensive linemen Erick Lobos (6-3, 280, 4.9) is one of the main reasons why Venice is vying for their first City title.
Lobos has over 60 tackles, eight sacks and an amazing eight fumble recoveries.

Lobos has offers from Washington State, Washington, Arizona, Utah and San Diego State. He has already visited WSU and has a trip scheduled for Washington on December 12th.
Lobos will head up to Seattle after his game this coming weekend.
Arizona and San Diego are very much in the hunt for visits. UCLA has also shown recent interest in Lobos.
“UCLA came by the school last Wednesday,” Lobos said. “They are looking at me as a defensive tackle. Coach (Don) Johnson said they need defensive tackles since the Bruins are graduating six.”
Recruiting has been put on the back burner for Lobos and many of his Venice teammates who are also being recruited.
“There is no selfishness on this football team (Venice),” Lobos said. “There are a lot of players on this team that are getting recruited, but that is the last thing on our mind.”
“We have one more game to go,” Lobos said. “That is all we are thinking about.”
Venice got the better of Carson in their first go around 34-14. “We know that they will be ready,” Lobos said. “So will we.”
