Livas sitting on one offer

Houma (La.) South Terrebonne all-purpose back Phillip Livas currently has just one scholarship offer, but is hopeful that he will soon have several more.
"Coaches have been talking to my high school coach," Livas said. "But the only offer I got is from Southern Mississippi."

The offer from the Golden Eagles, however, isn't something Livas is taking lightly. He is very high on the USM program.
"I would be a nice program," he said. "They are recruiting me as a wide receiver and the coaches are real nice. I would be a nice program for me."
The 5-foot-8, 163-pounder, who posted a 4.3-second 40-yard dash at the Baton Rouge NIKE Camp in April, will camp at LSU later this month.
"I hope to impress the coaches and show them that I am a versatile player with speed," Livas said. "I've always liked LSU."
Miami (Fla.) is another program that has been involved to a lesser extent with Livas.
"They've been sending me letters," he said. "I get mail from them, but that's about it."
Livas, who rushed for 1,223 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2005, will start practicing for the 2006 season the last week in July. He is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com and the No. 28 overall prospect in the Rivals.com Louisiana Top 40.
