Liuchan headed to Pac-12

Ricky Liuchan has not visited Oregon State yet but he's been thinking about his recruitment a lot lately and decided that the Beavers were the right team for him.
The three-star linebacker from San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills committed to Oregon State over the weekend and he said now it's time to focus on his senior season and stop worrying about the recruiting process.

A lot of factors were considered as Liuchan wrapped things up.
"It took a little while for me to just think about where I wanted to commit," Liuchan said. "It's located in a small town and that's what I want, something relaxed and laid back a little bit so I could focus on football and school.
"They have some great coaches up there especially coach Mike Riley. I've heard some great things about him. I've never heard anything bad about him. That's another reason."
Arizona State, Cal, Iowa State, San Diego State and Washington State had also offered Liuchan, rated No. 93 in the California state rankings by Rivals.com, but the Beavers won out in his recruitment.
Now the Mission Hills linebacker will work on scheduling an official visit to Corvallis. Liuchan said the intention was not to necessarily commit before the season but that's how it happened and he's happy with his decision.
"I'm looking to take an official visit to Oregon State," Liuchan said. "I'm not sure about visiting anywhere else yet. I don't have a date yet.
"Actually it just happened. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, thinking about where I wanted to go. I thought it would be a lot easier if I committed there now instead of waiting until after the season just because I wanted to focus on my season."
