Little Rock safety has wild weekend

Little Rock (Ark.) Pulaski Academy three-star safety Stephen Green had a weekend to remember.
First his team won a second-round state playoff game, and then he hopped in a car and drove to Manhattan, Kan., to see Kansas State beat Missouri.

When he was done there, he visited Arrowhead Stadium to see his older brother, Greg Wesley, beat the Oakland Raiders.
“It was a great weekend,” he said. “It started on a great note with our win. Then I had a great time at K-State and then I got to watch the Chiefs beat the Raiders.”
It doesn’t get much better than that.
Speaking of his time in Manhattan, Green said he was especially impressed with the way the Wildcats’ defense swarmed to the ball. He was also impressed with how K-State running back Darren Sproles racked up more than 270 yards against the Tigers.
“Man that running back is good,” Green, who is 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, said. “He sure hits those holes and is gone. I also talked a lot with the coaches. I spent some time with Bobby Elliott. He wants me to come back up there in December for an official visit.”
And it looks like that might happen.
Green said he’s narrowed his focus to Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and Ole Miss. Ole Miss and K-State have not offered scholarships yet.
“But the K-State coaches told my coach last week that they’re going to offer me a scholarship this week,” he said. “I still need to find out what is the latest with Ole Miss.”
With his team still deep in the state playoffs, Green said he’s still waiting on setting up official visits. And he got a piece of brother advice about what to do this week in the third round.
“Greg told me that we need to get that ring this year,” Green said. “We always seem to lose in the second or third round, but he said this year it’s time for us to go get that ring.”
Green is ranked as the nation’s NO. 35 safety prospect.
