Linebacker has a new home

Linebacker Cordero Howard has only been at Orlando (Fla.) Jones High for three days, but he's already fitting in.
"They've accepted me and showed me how to do things right," Howard said. "They are trying to help me with my position, conditioning and everything.

"I'm looking forward to playing here."
Howard, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound outside linebacker, is the cousin of Jones standout defensive end prospect Jerry Howard.
Before he left North Carolina, Howard was getting letters from Miami (Fla.), Colorado State, North Carolina, Duke and Virginia Tech. His current top five are the Canes, Hokies, Florida State, Florida and Clemson.
"I haven't heard from Clemson yet, but they need to come holler at me," he said.
Originally from Florida, Howard moved from North Carolina in part because of recruiting.
"I wasn't seeing as much attention as I thought I would," he said. "Florida is the recruiting state and I wanted to come back home and help Jones win a championship."
Howard will attend the Miami NIKE Camp April 9 in Coral Gables, Fla.
