Aliquippa, Pa. linebacker Brandon Lindsey took his first official visit of the season last weekend to Morgantown. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder enjoyed his time at West Virginia. Does he now have a leader?
"I wouldn't say that, but I liked what I saw at West Virginia," he stated. "When I was there they took me around the campus and I was able to talk to the coaches. My host was Mortty Ivy and we talked about recruiting. He was a really cool person and told me what West Virginia is all about."
The three-star prospect was in attendance for the Mountaineers thrilling triple overtime victory over Rutgers.
"It was a really exciting game," he said. "The crowd was hostile and really crazy. I liked that. As far as the game, I thought they played hard and the linebackers got to the ball. That impressed me a lot."
Before leaving on Sunday, Lindsey met with the entire coaching staff including Rich Rodriguez.
"I talked to coach Rodriguez for about 20 or 25 minutes," he said. "He talked a lot about academics and my chances to play early. I had never met him before, but he was a really nice guy. I did ask if he's staying and he said that he was, but I'm still not sure that's true."
This weekend, the No. 14 player in the Keystone State heads out on another official to Pittsburgh.
"I know almost everything there," he said. "I just want to go see where I stand with them."
At this time, Lindsey hasn't scheduled any other visits.
"I'm still trying to work those out, but more than likely I will take all five trips."
