Lindsey stays home with Pitt

Aliquippa, Pa. linebacker Brandon Lindsey took his second and final official visit this past weekend to Pittsburgh. Before leaving, the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder gave his verbal pledge to the Panthers and Dave Wannstedt.
"I talked to coach Wannstedt today," he said. "He was very happy and just congratulated me on making a decision."

What made the three-star prospect pick the Panthers over offers from Ohio State, West Virginia and Boston College?
"It really came down to the people," he said. "They are really nice and I could see myself playing there for four years. No individual coaches stuck out, the staff as a whole are great guys and I look forward to work with them.
"I also like the opportunity to stay close to home. It allows me to be close to my family and that's important."
As far as playing time, the coaches believe Lindsey has a chance to earn it right away.
"They told me if I come in and work hard I've got a chance of playing. I'm going to do what I can to get on the field and help this team."
The No. 34 outside linebacker in the country had a final word to say to Panther fans.
"Tell them to stick with us because things will change there in the next couple of years."
