Liberty Christian has another prospect

Huge offensive tackle Bobby Massie is the star at Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy. Head coach Frank Rocco maintains there's another potential Division I prospect on the team in running back Jamal Pannell. What stands out about the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder?

"He's getting a fair amount of mail from Division I schools," Rocco said. "He's not getting the calls to me like Bobby is though. His recruitment will probably take a little longer."

Last year Pannell ran for 1,492 yards and 20 total touchdowns on his way to first team all-state honors.

"He's an all-purpose type of back that has very good hands as a receiver out of the backfield and is a slasher," he said. "The thing that is impressive about Jamal is that he's a tall angular running back. He takes on tacklers and knows how to shrink himself down. He has tremendous ability to get his pads low and dishes out the blow.

"Off the field, Jamal is a kid that has gotten mature and really grown up in the past couple years. Grade wise he's got work to do, but he'll be eligible in the end."
